Mercy in the Mirror
A 33-Day Devotional for Releasing Shame, Receiving God's Grace, and Walking into Freedom
You may have left the old life behind and still feel its weight. A memory returns without warning. Someone's disappointment echoes in your mind. Shame points to the worst thing you have done and insists that it is the truest thing about you. Even after asking God for forgiveness, you may struggle to offer mercy to the person looking back at you in the mirror. These thirty-three days are not an invitation to excuse harm, avoid amends, or pretend consequences do not matter. They are an invitation to let honest responsibility live beside the greater truth of grace. Condemnation says you must keep suffering to prove you are sorry. Grace says you can tell the truth, make what repairs are possible, receive wise support, and become someone who lives differently. Move gently and honestly. Some readings may uncover grief, fear, or regret. Pause when you need to. Share what rises with a trusted pastor, sponsor, counselor, recovery professional, physician, or safe friend. You are not being asked to heal alone. Bring the heart you actually have, and let God meet you there.
