A truth to carry
Isaiah's words are often remembered for eagles and running, but the verse ends with walking. Most recovery is lived there. It is the pace of ordinary mornings, repeated choices, and responsibilities carried without applause. Walking may be the most faithful form of strength available today. Renewed strength is different from forced strength. Forced strength ignores limits, refuses help, and keeps moving until collapse. Renewed strength receives. It allows rest, nourishment, prayer, honest conversation, and treatment to restore what effort alone cannot provide. It does not call depletion devotion. You may have learned to value yourself by usefulness. After the past, usefulness can become a way to pay an invisible debt. You volunteer for everything, rescue everyone, or work beyond capacity because resting feels undeserved. Yet exhaustion can make old patterns more appealing and healthy judgment more difficult. Protecting strength is part of protecting recovery. Ask which pace belongs to this season. There may be days to run, when energy and opportunity align. There may be moments of unexpected perspective, like rising on eagle's wings. But many days will ask you to walk: keep the routine, take the medication as directed, answer honestly, finish the task, leave work on time, and return home without detouring toward danger. Do not despise the walking days. They teach your life that safety does not need drama. They build trust with others and with yourself. Every kept commitment becomes a plank in a bridge back toward integrity. Renewal may also require releasing activities that appear good but keep you unstable. Not every opportunity is your assignment. Not every request deserves yes. Wisdom can disappoint someone in order to remain faithful to what God is healing. Let strength be renewed rather than demanded. Today, you are not required to soar. You may simply walk without fainting. Place one foot in front of the other, receive what sustains you, and trust that humble endurance is not a lesser miracle.
