A truth to carry
Elijah had witnessed dramatic demonstrations of God's power. Yet in his exhaustion, the Lord came near through a still small voice. Retirement can train your ears for that quieter register. God's guidance may arrive through a verse that lingers, a compassionate concern that returns, a wise friend's counsel, or a steady conviction to make peace with something unfinished. Not every thought is God's instruction, and a strong feeling is not automatically a calling. Scripture gives the boundary, prayer gives space, and mature counsel gives perspective. Gentle guidance can be tested without being dismissed. You do not need to force an answer. The Shepherd knows how to make His direction recognizable over time.
