A truth to carry
Your heart is not an endless resource. What enters it repeatedly - voices, obligations, resentment, fear, and hurried news - shapes what flows from it. Retirement can bring more control over your time, but open hours still need wise gates. Guarding your heart is not selfish isolation. It is stewardship. You may need limits on media, a pause before agreeing to another request, or distance from conversation that leaves you repeatedly wounded. You may also need to welcome what restores: Scripture, beauty, laughter, friendship, movement, creativity, and rest. A guarded heart is not a closed heart. It is a tended garden from which life can keep flowing.
