A truth to carry
God's comfort is not wasted. The care you received in a difficult season can shape the way you sit beside someone else. You may know how unhelpful quick answers can be. You may understand the gift of a meal, a quiet presence, or a message that expects nothing in return. This does not mean every wound must become public or that you are responsible to rescue others. It means suffering can deepen compassion when it is placed in God's hands. Offer the kind of comfort you once needed: attentive, humble, and free of pressure. Sometimes purpose after retirement is not a new program. It is becoming someone who knows how to remain in the room when another person hurts.
