A truth to carry
Change trains the mind to count what has been lost: a paycheck, familiar coworkers, physical energy, certainty, or status. The psalmist speaks directly to his own soul and tells it not to forget. Gratitude sometimes begins as a deliberate act of remembering. This does not require you to deny what hurts. Loss and blessing can share the same day. Name the meal that nourished you, the person who checked in, the Scripture that steadied you, the home that sheltered you, or the strength that remained for one task. Benefits are not proof that hardship is small. They are evidence that hardship has not erased every trace of God's care.
