A truth to carry
These words lift the eyes high. God is able to keep you. He is wise. He holds glory, majesty, dominion, and power. When anxiety has made your inner world feel unstable, a doxology like this reminds you that the center of reality is not fragile. Being kept by God does not mean you will never have a hard day, a fearful thought, or a need for help. It means your standing with Him is not maintained by your perfect emotional balance. You are not held because you never stumble in thought or feeling. You are held by the God whose wisdom and power do not fail. The phrase “with exceeding joy” does not mock your present struggle. It points beyond it. Your future with God is not secured by your ability to eliminate every anxious thought. It is secured by His grace. That truth can loosen the fear that you must get everything right in order to be safe with Him. Praise is the fitting response to this keeping love. You give glory to God not because your day has been flawless, but because He is worthy. You remember that dominion belongs to Him, not to the thought that keeps trying to rule your mind. When you feel unsteady, return to the One who is able. Ask for the support you need. Take the next faithful step. And let God’s keeping power be more convincing than your fear of falling apart.
