A truth to carry
It is easy to hear this verse as a demand to feel strong all the time. But look at the movement: soaring, running, walking. God’s renewed strength is not limited to the most impressive version of endurance. Sometimes renewed strength looks like walking. Sometimes it looks like taking the next small step without fainting under the weight of everything you fear. Anxiety often compares your pace to an imagined standard. You should be over this by now. You should be able to handle more. You should have figured it out. God’s invitation is kinder. Wait upon Him. Receive strength rather than forcing performance. Praise changes how you measure a strong day. A strong day may be one in which you told the truth, rested before you were depleted, kept an appointment, asked for prayer, or chose not to react to a fearful thought. These acts may look ordinary. They are often the quiet muscles of faith. Waiting on God gives you permission to honor the capacity you actually have. It does not call you lazy or weak for needing a slower pace. It calls you dependent, and dependence is not failure in the life of faith. It is where strength is renewed. Today, resist the urge to borrow energy from tomorrow just to prove something. Walk with God at the pace He gives. The path does not become less sacred because it is slow.
