A truth to carry
Admitting that you do not know can feel uncomfortable after years of being the experienced person in the room. Retirement brings unfamiliar decisions, and old expertise may not answer them. James gives you permission to lack wisdom and a direct invitation to ask for it. God does not humiliate those who ask. He gives generously. His wisdom may come through Scripture, prayer, patient research, a financial professional, a doctor, a counselor, or someone who has already walked this road. Receiving counsel does not diminish your maturity. It demonstrates it. A teachable heart remains young enough to grow and wise enough to know it does not see alone.
