A truth to carry
Our culture often talks about later years as decline. Scripture offers another image: roots deep enough to keep bearing fruit. That fruit may not look like the accomplishments of your career. It may appear as patience, steadiness, prayer, gentleness, perspective, or the ability to stay present when someone else is hurting. Fruit is grown, not manufactured. A tree bears because it remains rooted and receives what God provides. You do not need to compete with a younger body or a former schedule. Stay rooted in Christ. Let the fruit of your years ripen at a humane pace. Someone in your life may need exactly the calm hope God has spent decades growing in you.
