A truth to carry

Overthinking often happens when you genuinely want to choose well. That desire is good. The trouble begins when wisdom becomes a demand for complete certainty. You may ask God for guidance, then feel pressured to decode every detail perfectly so you do not make a mistake. Psalm 25 offers a more peaceful posture: teach me. A teachable heart does not pretend to have the whole path figured out. It asks God to show, lead, and instruct. It is willing to take one honest step while continuing to learn. God’s guidance often comes through ordinary channels. Scripture shapes your values. Wise people offer perspective. Prayer exposes motives. Time reveals what urgency tried to hide. A practical next action becomes clear. None of these methods require you to become certain about every possible consequence. Waiting on God “all the day” does not mean doing nothing. It means keeping your heart open to His leadership in the day you are living. You can make a call, finish a task, say no, ask for counsel, or rest. Then you can return to God without believing every decision must carry the weight of your entire future. Praise makes the posture personal. You are not waiting on an abstract answer. You are waiting on the God of your salvation. He is more committed to leading you than you are capable of leading yourself.
