A truth to carry

Medical uncertainty can make understanding feel like safety. If you could name every cause, predict every symptom, and know which treatment would work, perhaps your mind could finally rest. Information matters, and thoughtful questions are wise. But even excellent care cannot remove every unknown. Proverbs does not ask you to abandon understanding. It asks you not to make understanding the only structure holding your life up. Trust in God and wise medical care can live together. You can research responsibly, seek another opinion, track symptoms, and still admit that no amount of analysis can guarantee tomorrow. To acknowledge God in all your ways means inviting Him into the waiting room, the treatment decision, the insurance call, the changed plan, and the conversation you wish you did not need to have. Direction may come through Scripture, medical expertise, a trustworthy advocate, a growing sense of peace, or the recognition that a particular path is not sustainable. It may also come one decision at a time. Trust is not certainty about the outcome. It is a relationship strong enough to hold uncertainty. You do not have to predict the road before taking the next responsible step. When your mind circles the same unanswered question, gently distinguish between what needs action and what cannot be solved tonight. Do what belongs to today; place the rest in God's care. This is not passive resignation. It is active freedom from carrying a future that has not arrived. The God who directs paths is already present beyond the edge of what you understand.
