A truth to carry

Renewal is usually slower than we want. We may wish for one powerful moment that permanently silences overthinking. But the renewing of the mind often happens through repeated choices: returning to Scripture, practicing a new response, receiving counsel, resting when needed, and refusing to make fear the measure of what is true. The world has many patterns that feed anxiety. It tells you that productivity proves your worth, that constant availability is necessary, that every mistake is public, and that safety depends on staying informed about everything. God’s transforming work challenges these patterns. He teaches you to live from a different source. Renewal does not mean you become unaware of problems. It means you learn to see them through the truth of God’s character. You can tell the difference between a responsibility and an imagined catastrophe. You can pause before reacting. You can ask, “What is the faithful next step?” rather than, “How can I guarantee the future?” Praise participates in renewal because it rehearses truth. Every time you bless God for His wisdom, faithfulness, and care, you are giving your mind language stronger than the anxious script. You are not pretending fear has never spoken. You are choosing not to let fear write the final line. Be patient with the process. A renewed mind is not a mind that never wanders. It is a mind that knows how to return.
